DF175A / DF150A
CHARACTERISTICS
High Fuel Efficiency
Combined with Lean Burn technology, the semi-automatic intake system and the high efficiency ratio from the 10.2 to 1 compression ratio, these new outboards offer maximum performance. Comparing the 175 and 150, the DF175A offers 14% more fuel economy and the DF150A shows a 7% improvement in fuel economy.
Strong
With more torque (3.1% more for the DF150A and 2.7% more for the DF175A), combined with the efficient center shaft, these new outboards produce more power throughout the rpm range. Even on heavier, fully loaded boats, the DF150A and 175A take performance to new levels.
Fast Acceleration
The DF150A and DF175A engine now share the same engine head, used for the popular DF200A. Greater capacity and improved mechanical design combine for more acceleration, in every rev range. We satisfy the desire of our customers, with better performance and maximum fuel economy.
Reliable
These new outboards take full advantage of Suzuki's trusted four-stroke technology to deliver their best performance over time. A knock sensor keeps the engine running smoothly and improves maintenance. An O2 sensor improves engine performance and Suzuki's water detection system helps protect the engine from the effects of bad fuel, which include poor combustion, lower power output and wear.
The data used in this product information was obtained by internal testing under simulated conditions. Results will vary depending on operating conditions.

Advanced technology for performance
Shifted Central Axis
ILLUSTRATION
The engine is placed closer to the front, moving the outboard's center of gravity forward.
ADVANTAGES
Less vibration
More compact
Steady directional performance
2 Stage Drive Transmission
ILLUSTRATION
This system, which incorporates the offset central shaft, has a first gear stage between the crankshaft and the drive shaft and a second gear inside the gearbox. This design enables a larger gear ratio, allowing it to turn larger diameter propellers.
ADVANTAGES
High engine performance with large diameter propeller.
Powerful navigation, maintaining propeller rotation even with heavier load.
Excellent power to turn large diameter propellers, offering quick acceleration.

Variable Length Insertion System (MSI)
ILLUSTRATION
The air distribution stroke alternates between short and long during low speed and high speed operation to ensure that the correct volume of air enters the engine.
ADVANTAGES
Increases performance during high-speed operation with a larger amount of air intake.
Increases combustion efficiency and maximizes torque by increasing intake air density during low speed operation.
VVT (Variable Valve Timing)
ILLUSTRATION
Variable valve timing is used to control the opening and closing timing of the intake valve depending on engine operation.
ADVANTAGES
It offers smooth and powerful torque.
It provides tremendous acceleration during operation throughout the speed range.
Semi-Direct Air Intake System
ILLUSTRATION
This system brings cooler air directly into the variable length intake, enabling the engine to run more efficiently.
ADVANTAGE
Greater acceleration and top speed.
Oxygen Control System
ILLUSTRATION
This system provides accurate information in real time. Used to manage the fuel/air ratio as operating conditions change.
ADVANTAGES
Cleaner and more consistent exhaust emissions.
Helps maintain optimum engine operating efficiency throughout the engine's operating range.
Lean Burn
ILLUSTRATION
The Suzuki Lean Burn Control System provides the correct mixture of fuel and air depending on the navigation conditions.
ADVANTAGE
Significant improvement in fuel economy at all speeds, especially at constant cruising speed.
Anti-Corrosion Finish
ILLUSTRATION
Special protection is applied to the aluminum surface using high strength welds to protect the external aluminum components.
ADVANTAGE
Corrosion protection helps increase overall engine durability
Water Detection System
ILLUSTRATION
It helps protect the engine from water in the fuel by using a water-sensing fuel filter to alert the operator with visual and audible warnings when water is present in the fuel.
ADVANTAGE
Avoiding water in the fuel, which can lead to problems such as poor combustion, lower power output and corrosion.
