Strong Performance Leg
The leg is designed with a powerful 2.29:1 gear ratio. This allows more torque to be generated from these motors to turn a larger shaft and move more water.

With a 3.6 liter capacity, electronic fuel injection, and a strong 2.29:1 final drive, the DF200, DF225 and DF250 deliver maximum torque at all revs. You will always have the power you need, whenever you need it. And the powerful dynamo with an output current of 54A provides plenty of electricity for electronics.
When only Perfect is Good Enough
Suzuki's iconic V6 range offers the perfect power for both pleasure and commercial boats. Suzuki was the sole outboard supplier for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Sailing Regatta, which used the DF300AP and DF200 alongside the DF140, DF90A and DF40A.

Continuously varying valve timing
The DF250 incorporates Suzuki's advanced Variable Valve Timing (VVT) system. VVT is used to change the intake timing with the camshaft to optimize camshaft timing for low to mid-range operation. Combined with the aggressive outboard seat, the VVT delivers more torque in low and mid-range for strong acceleration.
Variable Length Insertion System (MSI)
Suzuki's multi-stage intake system is used to increase engine performance. Each cylinder in this system is fitted with a set of small and large intake ports that are used in relation to engine speed. At lower revs, the longer pipes provide the optimal volume of fresh air into the chamber, improving combustion and boosting low-end torque. At higher revs, the valve opens on the smaller, direct intake manifold letting air into the chamber to instantly increase high speed high power output. (DF250 / 225)
Durability & Reliability
The engine housing starts with a special finish that offers maximum grip on the Suzuki aluminum alloy. To this epoxy primer substrate, black metallic finish and clear acrylic fiber finish are added to create an effective anti-corrosion treatment. This finish can be found on all Suzuki line-up models.
Electronic fuel injection
Advanced electronic multi-point fuel injection, which is monitored by the on-board 32-bit computer, keeps engine performance highly tuned. At the same time, fully transistorized ignition provides a hotter spark with less electronic interference.

Cleaner and more efficient operation
Suzuki's advanced four-wheel drive technologies provide cleaner, more efficient operation that complies with Recreational Craft Directive (RCD) standards and received a 3-star rating from the California Air Resources Board (CARB).
Greater gear reduction ratio
Suzuki's two-stage reduction results in a gear ratio of 2.29:1. We're running a large-diameter propeller designed to move a lot of water - and a lot of boats.
