FOURSTROKE 175hp
The new Mercury FourStrokes engines feature top-notch manufacturing precision from the lower steering fin to the cowling. Fully equipped with advanced technology to improve performance and reliability in every way, the robust 3.4 liter V‑6 engines, designed to minimize weight and maximize fuel economy, deliver the best acceleration to date during the planning process, Mercury's top speed and fuel economy.
In addition, the new FourStrokes engines provide unsurpassed noise and vibration damping for a premium boating experience, while the Idle Battery Charge Management System prevents the batteries from draining when operating multiple electronic devices at once. The small profile is ideal for a wide range of multi-motor installation applications. For easy checking of the engine oil level, simply open the maintenance hatch on the top of the engine cover.
Also, the new V‑6 FourStroke, available with mechanical or digital throttle & engagement controls for increased flexibility and compatibility in engine upgrade procedures, is unmatched on the water. The bold, contemporary styling is inspired by speed and power, while multiple color options make it easy to personalize.
Glide faster
Our fastest and most versatile FourStroke V‑6 200 hp top displacement engine in the category. Design based on the performance and agility of the engine thanks to the doubles camshafts and the high flow air intake. The lightest weight in the class. All this ensures unparalleled performance during the planing process on a wide range of boat types. Make the most of that acceleration with Mercury's wide range of propellers, which has been expanded to match the performance of these new outboards.
The FourStroke with the best fuel economy to date
Go even further with every liter! Advanced Range Optimization (ARO) and closed-loop fuel injection control work together to precisely adjust the air-fuel mixture, delivering the best possible efficiency. Details such as bearing sizes and oil flow in the lubrication circuit are designed to reduce internal engine friction and improve overall efficiency. A hydrodynamically optimized foot glides better in the water, thus reducing the load faced by the motor.
Small and light
Gram for gram, Mercury engineers reduce the weight of Mercury FourStroke outboards, making them the lightest engines in their class. Reduced weight improves performance in every way. The configuration of the V‑6 engine has been optimized to minimize its size, while the cover, which is easily released via a single latch, is designed to 'hug' the engine. V‑6 FourStrokes are closely spaced in multi-engine installations. Consequently they can be fitted to a wider range of boat transoms - ideal for simple, barrier-free engine upgrade installations.
Polymorphism
The new V‑6 FourStroke outboards are available with mechanical or digital controls, giving consumers more choice when it comes to new engine installations on new boats as well as upgrading older ones. Consumers can choose hydraulic (standard equipment) or electro-hydraulic steering (optional).
Engine speed stabilization system
Engine Speed Control (ASC) allows operators to maintain constant engine speed (rpm), regardless of changes in load or conditions navigation – such as rough seas, sharp turns, towing sports (skis, umbrellas, etc.) and planing at lower speeds – without the need for frequent throttle position adjustments.
White, black, color of your choice
Mercury's new 200 hp and 225 hp FourStroke outboards are available in Cold Fusion and traditional Phantom Black.
Management system for charging low voltage batteries
The Idle Charge battery management system prevents the batteries from discharging when operating several electronic devices at the same time. When the battery voltage drops, the engine automatically increases idle speed to increase the output current from the alternator to recharge the batteries to the correct level.
