The 300R Fourstroke engine boasts the highest performance in its class. The naturally aspirated 4.6-liter V-8 boasts 44% more displacement and up to 40% more low-end torque overall than the legendary 300XS 2-stroke it replaces. The 250R FourStroke engine puts out 250 horsepower at the propeller shaft. The powerful V-8 engine boasts 53% more displacement and up to 40% more low-end torque overall than the legendary 2-stroke 250XS it replaces. Developed and built in-house, the naturally aspirated 4.6-liter V-8 borrows the Quad Cam Four Valve (QC4) technology of Mercury Racing's inboard-outboard engine DNA – with aluminum 4-valve heads and double overhead camshafts (DOHC). The above heads and dual overhead camshafts per cylinder bank are integrated with Mercury's proprietary block design and accompanying high performance equipment.

Color options

An optional decorative fillet/engine panel in Graphite Grey, available via kit. There is also a kit of primed fillets, ready to paint, for those who want colors other than the basic ones, to give a personal character to the aesthetic harmony of the engines with their boat

Unparalleled torque
Mercury's exclusive Transient Spark system, which increases up to 7% torque during planing by optimizing spark plug timing and fuel injection regulation, achieves faster planing of the boat. All that displacement and power is channeled through a compact and lightweight package with 26-inch engine spacing, ideal as an upgrade or multi-engine solution

New and bold aesthetics

The aggressively designed and styled engine cover defines a new era of propulsion through high performance outboards from Mercury Racing. Fresh in design and with excellent aesthetic graphics and decorative fillets in a bright red color (Devil Red) "shout" from afar that they are bursting with performance.

The cover is kept in place

For easy checking of the engine oil level or topping up, simply open the handy and watertight hatch on the top of the engine cover. Even smarter is the optional electronic oil level measurement system, which uses a sensor to measure the oil level when the engine is started, warning the operator of a low oil level.
